Shroeder is a Wrong Element

Carly Schroeder (Mean Creek, The Lizzie McGuire Movie) has signed to play Harrison Ford's daughter in The Wrong Element, which also stars Virginia Madsen and Paul Bettany. Richard Loncraine is directing the kidnapping thriller.

Madsen is in The Wrong Element

Virginia Madsen, who last week received a Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for Sideways, has signed to star opposite Harrison Ford and Paul Bettany in Warner Bros. Pictures' The Wrong Element. The action thriller will be directed by Richard Loncraine from a screenplay by Joe Forte. Madsen will be playing the wife of a security expert (Ford). When she and her daughter are kidnapped, the security expert must try to steal some money from one of the companies for whom he runs security. He must complete the transfer before law enforcement can catch up with him so that he can save his family. Bettany is the villain.

Loncraine to helm Wrong Element

After the departure of Mark Pellington due to the death of his wife, Richard Loncraine has signed on to direct the Warner Bros./Village Roadshow film The Wrong Element. Based on a screenplay by Joe Forte, Harrison Ford stars as a security chief for a bank whose family is kidnapped. Also starring is Paul Bettany, who previously worked with Loncraine on the romantic comedy Wimbledon.

Pellington off Wrong Element

Mark Pellington has resigned as director for Warner Bros’ Harrison Ford flick The Wrong Element. The helmer bowed out for personal reasons, as his wife passed away last week. The studio is looking to hire a replacement quickly so that the film can stay on schedule with an early fall shooting date.

Bettany joins The Wrong Element

Paul Bettany, who is starring in the upcoming romantic comedy Wimbledon, is in final talks to co-star with Harrison Ford in The Wrong Element for Warner Bros. The film is set to be directed by Mark Pellington from a screenplay by Joe Forte. Ford will star as a security chief for a global bank who must save his family when they are kidnapped. In order to do so, he has to break into his own foolproof security system and steal $37 million without being caught. Bettany will play a villain in the film. Warner Bros. plans for filming to begin in the fall.

Arlington Road director to helm The Wrong Element

Mark Pellington, who previously directed thrillers like The Mothman Prophecies and Arlington Road, has signed on to helm The Wrong Element, which already has Harrison Ford in the lead role. The script, which was written by Joe Forte, centers around a security expert who finds himself in a tense situation when his wife and daughter are kidnapped. In order to pay their ransom, he must steal money from a bank he has been charged with protecting. When law enforcement authorities become aware of what he is doing, he must race against time to complete the illegal funds transfer.
