In 1990, director Spike Lee teamed up with actor Denzel Washington to create a remarkable story about blues music in Mo' Better Blues. Soon, the duo followed up that effort with a movie that gained a substantial amount of attention. Malcolm X earned Washington his first Best Actor Academy Award nomination and established Lee as a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood.
Now, Lee will once again reunite with Washington as the duo join forces for a heist flick that will also display the talents of a recent Academy Award nominee for Supporting Actor (Clive Owen) as well as a two-time winner in the actress categories (Jodie Foster).
The movie's story will center around a clever bank robber (Owen) who has been playing cat-and-mouse with a cop (Washington) for a period of time. The robber sets out to commit the perfect crime, but he loses control over the situation, and ultimately finds himself in a stand-off that involves a hostage. Lee has previously found success in directing numerous genres, so it will be fascinating to see the direction he takes as he works with this talented cast. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
