From director David Ellis (Cellular) comes this thriller that examines two of humanities most essential fears - snakes and airplanes. When you combine the two phobias into one big amalgamation, things can get more than a little tense.

Samuel L. Jackson, who never saw a movie role he didn't like, portrays an FBI agent who must escort an important witness for a mob trial on a flight from Hawaii to Los Angeles. It seems that Jackson's character has been on a long-term quest to bring a particular mafia boss to justice. He finally sees some light at the end of the tunnel, as he has the key testimony sitting right beside him on an airplane. However, if Red Eye has taught us nothing else, it's that airplanes are not safe, happy places.

The problem is that the particular mob boss who is involved here is not at all happy about the possibility of going down the river. To prevent that from ever happening, he has an assassin release hundreds of deadly snakes on the plane that is conveying the witness (and the FBI agent) to the trial location. With nowhere to run, the FBI agent must try to work with a rookie pilot along with some very frightened crew and passengers to try to survive the ordeal. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
