This documentary about a 1999 Florida court case will probably stir up some heated discussions about women's rights, rape, and the state of higher education. The movie is similar to the 1988 movie The Accused. However, this film uses actual footage of the crime. Please be aware that the footage is very explicit and disturbing.

On Friday, February 26, 1999, there was a huge party held at the Delta Chi frat house at the University of Florida. Exotic dancer Lisa Gier King was hired to perform for the guests. The following morning, King ran from the house half-naked and distraught, claiming that one of the frat boys had raped her and another one had videotaped the crime.

However, two days later, she was arrested and charged with filing a false police report after the authorities viewed the tape and claimed it showed "clearly willing and consensual sex." Many members of the community were outraged, and pressured the State Attorney to make the tape available for public viewing, which he did.

This movie combines that footage with interviews from the participants to try and present a balanced view of the situation. Filmmaker Billy Corben doesn't take either side, but rather allows the audience to decide for themselves who's right and who's wrong. (Marty Doskins/BOP)
