Is anyone getting tired of all these spoof movies? Apparently, the movie studios don't think so, and as long as the receipts keep coming in at the box office, there's no end in sight.
This film is early in the development phase, but here are the few details we have. Just from the title, you can tell that at least three big blockbusters are going to be spoofed: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, and Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace. More than likely, they'll throw in a bunch of other films to butcher. Variety has reported that this will be a story of an orphan who embarks on a magical quest around the world and beyond to rid the universe of evil.
As of right now, there has been no cast announced, but we do know that Keenan Ivory Wayans will be directing. They also have the writing team of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer working on the script. They're both veterans of the spoof genre. They worked together on the first two films in the Scary Movie series and also 1996's Spy Hard.
