2004 BOP Reader Awards Results:
Best Album
BOP readers showed they aren't just about movies by responding well to the category of best album. Green Day's American Idiot took the top spot by a 40% margin over the ubiquitous debut from Franz Ferdinand. Soundtracks in general received a lot of attention, but only three placed in the top 15, with the soundtrack to Garden State faring the best. Pazz and Jop winner Kanye West placed tenth for The College Dropout. Finishing just outside the running were albums by Avril Lavigne, Bjork, and Norah Jones. Hmm, that gives me a great idea for a, a supergroup. Yes, supergroup is what I meant to say.
