This is So Last Week,
our pop culture week-in-review,
presented in a pleasing quiz form.
Talk about your fast-track starts. Kerry Cornran's first film, The
World of Tomorrow, won't be released until May of next year and Paramount
is talking about making not one, but two sequels. The sequels would
reportedly feature the same cast of Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina
Jolie and Casey Affleck and would also create opportunities for merchandise
tie-ins. WOW! A Casey Affleck action figure.

Revolution Studios has apparently decided that the Vin Diesel vehicle xXx,
which did well at the box office but wasn't the blockbuster that had been
hoped for, was still sufficiently profitable to become a franchise, and is
moving forward with plans for a sequel featuring the character that some
have termed James Bond for the 21st century. No word yet on which cast
members from the first film, aside of Vin, will be returning, but current
rumor has it that the director, Rob Cohen, will not helm the sequel. 2 Fast 2 Furious director John Singleton has reportedly been served with a court order to stay 500 miles away from the production.

Current Flavor of the Month Keira Knightley, whose star is currently on the
rise thanks to her turns in Bend It Like Beckham and the Pirates of the
Caribbean, is reportedly in talks to become a Bond girl in the upcoming 21st
entry in that franchise, scheduled for release sometime in 2005. If signed,
Knightley, who is already rumored as being sought to appear in the next
Jurassic Park sequel, would become part of three different franchises, as
Pirates has already seen a sequel be greenlighted. One possible scenario
would have Knightley as a very successful assassin who kills using a
specially-outfitted bustier. Hey, don't deny that your mind didn't go to
the very same place.

With or without Ahnuld, there will reportedly be a Terminator 4. According
to the latest incarnation of John Connor, there are already a couple of
scripts in the works, with scenarios that would include Schwarzenegger's
character and that would further the tale without him. This time, a Terminator will be sent back to save the world by stopping a certain recall from happening.
