Ewan McGregor has admitted to being so depressed at starring in the Star
Wars prequels that he turned to alcohol for comfort. McGregor saw his fame
skyrocket after portraying Obi-Wan Kenobi, but also endured the increased
pressure of international movie stardom, leading him to drink heavily before
doing interviews. This, in turn, caused the actor to begin hating the
George Lucas-helmed movies. You and about 70 million other people, Ewan.

Fans of original Phantom Michael Crawford have bombarded Joel Schumacher
with angry letters over the choice of casting hot young actor Gerard Butler for the
film version of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical The Phantom of the Opera.
Crawford created the role of the Phantom on the British stage and later
played to packed houses in America, and his legion of fans are quite angry
that Crawford was not chosen to reprise his role in the film. Schumacher,
however, insists he is not the man to blame, and said in a statement, "The
decision not to use Michael Crawford is Lloyd Webber's and his alone." The
statement went on to direct angry fans to write Lloyd Webber at his London
production company, Really Useful Company. The fans will simmer down once Lloyd Webber informs them that Schumacher's choice was Paul Walker.

Don Johnson is preparing to sue the German Finance Ministry for damages,
claiming the Ministry hurt the actor's reputation. The former Miami Vice
star claims that documents detailing transactions totaling $8 billion were
photocopied during a routine check as he entered Germany from Switzerland
last November and then leaked to the press. The actor claims the documents
were not his, but that by releasing the information to the press, it gave
the appearance he was involved in some shady dealings, thus causing
irreparable harm to his name and character. The German ministry will eventually reach an out-of-court settlement of 23 Euros for damaging the actor's reputation.
