BOP Daily News

The spirit of BOP News lives on in
This is So Last Week,
our pop culture week-in-review,
presented in a pleasing quiz form.

The strangest news bit of the day comes from Warner Bros. who were left so unsatisfied with Paul Schrader’s Exorcist prequel that they have greenlighted a second prequel to be directed by Renny Harlin. Harlin’s prequel, which will feature a new story and a new cast, will receive a theatrical release on August 20th while Schrader’s version has been stuck in limbo for the last few months. Now Morgan Creek, the production company behind both films, is negotiating with WB to have both prequels released on DVD at the same time so that Schrader’s version can be seen by the public. No matter what film is released, we bet it’ll still be better than the Star Wars prequels. You want me to act in another what? I don’t think so

Best teeth in Hollywood Scottish actor, and apparently all-around nutbag, Ewan McGregor has decided to embark on a “one-in-a-lifetime” experience of motorcycling around the world. Accompanying the Moulin Rouge star will be Charley Boorman a close friend who will be filming footage of the trip for a documentary to be made at the end of the year-long adventure. The two friends have been training since January for the trip; their training included survival skills as well as emergency medical support. We’re still not sure how McGregor plans on crossing the Atlantic, but maybe the driving through the Middle East might be an even more difficult puzzle to solve.
It was announced that Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, best known for her role as Mystique in X-Men, and husband John Stamos, best known for his role in TV’s Full House, have separated. The couple is ending their 5-year marriage and going their separate ways. Romijn-Stamos…sorry, Romijn, is currently on a hectic publicity schedule promoting The Punisher, the Lion’s Gate film scheduled to open this Friday. This news has really saddened our male BOP writers so much that we have set up a special e-mail address for Ms. Romijn’s personal use. We ask her to e-mail us at shouldertocryon@BOPreboundingmachine.com. We’re here for ya, Becky.
