Julius Nasso, former business partner to action star and perennial punchline Steven Seagal, has pleaded guilty to charges he arranged for Seagal to be “threatened” so that the star would keep working with him. Nasso apparently hired a member of a reputed East Coast crime family to approach the Under Siege star and demand that he keep working with Nasso, paying him $150,000 a film. In addition to jail time and a hefty fine, Nasso has been ordered to undergo mental-health counseling for actions that a Seagal spokesman claimed were intended to “ruin Seagal’s career”. From where we’re sitting, Seagal doesn’t need any help ruining his “career”, although given how little we’ve heard from the action star of late, it does seem like perhaps that deal with a certain demon is up for renegotiation. Yeah, you know, he, uh, made me feel...not good, you know?

Although we’re not too sure about that whole cowl thing. Recent reports that Christopher Nolan plans to make the Caped Crusader more British seem to be dead on, with word that Liam Neeson will join the cast of the latest Batman film as the villain. Neeson, who joins Christopher Bale as the superhero and Michael Caine as the venerable Alfred, is set to play Ra’s Al Ghul, an international terrorist who has vowed to destroy Gotham City. Nolan is reportedly focusing more on Bruce Wayne in this latest big-screen chapter of the Dark Knight’s saga, which means another recent cast addition, Morgan Freeman, should see some decent screen time as the CEO of Wayne Enterprises. One rejected early draft reportedly had the Queer Eye group coming to make over Bruce Wayne, only to give up after realizing there’s no way to make a Brit any more metrosexual.
Following reports that Janet Jackson’s peek-a-booby Superbowl stunt has prompted the singer to start her own line of lingerie and intimate adornment accessories comes word that the flashing incident may have cost Janet more opportunities than it created. According to an article in People, the “unplanned wardrobe malfunction” has put her planned portrayal of Lena Horne in an upcoming TV biopic of the jazz legend in jeopardy as well. The legendary songstress, who is class personified, is reportedly furious over the entire incident and Horne herself is purportedly so offended she doesn’t want Jackson playing her now or ever. A spokesperson for the producers of the biopic refused to comment directly on whether Janet was still in the running to play the lead role, instead indicating the status of the project remained unchanged. Rumors that Jackson was now being considered for the lead in a planned Dennis Rodman biopic could not be confirmed at press time. Sometimes there *is* such a thing as bad publicity.
