Sideshow Bob is ready to work for the good guys again. None other than Kelsey Grammer has been lined up to portray master conversationalist Beast in X-Men 3. The surprising choice has been in under heavy scrutiny from comic book fans, but BOP thinks it’s something of a masterstroke. Since the actor’s appearance will be wholly disguised by costuming and make-up, all that matters about Dr. Hank McCoy is the voice. We expect that the first time Beast says “Magneto, would you like to discuss your deep-set emotional scars? I’m listening,” audiences will be hooked. The Wolverine, The

Before Sunrise woulda made a catchy title for a vampire flick, kids Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy work together enough to qualify as the new Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. Following their tremendous success in Before Sunset, the duo is poised to team up in a vampire drama called Bathory. The 2004 Oscar nominees for Best Screenplay are not resting on their laurels, either. Delpy will make her directorial debut on this project, and she also wrote the original screenplay. The titular vampire is famous for her acts of depravity including bathing in the blood of virgins. Since it’s otherwise tricky finding heavy volumes of virgins in this day and age, producers spent the evening interviewing people exiting midnight showings of Episode III.
A national controversy is erupting over the decision of one theater owner. Ike Boutwell owns the only two theaters in Hardin County, Kentucky. He also was a pilot instructor for the military during the Vietnam War. As a veteran, the man resents Jane Fonda’s stance on the role of the United States in North Vietnam. Due to his dislike of the actress, he has refused to show the #1 movie in the country, Monster-in-Law, at his two theaters. The boycott is a blip on the box office radar as it amounts to only a few hundred dollars of lost revenue for the film. What is noteworthy, however, is the way that the national media has sensationalized the story. There are over 200 Google News items popping up in the past 24 hours. This sort of controversy could lead to millions in additional revenue for the film, making BOP wonder if Boutwell and Hanoi Jane have some under-the-table deal worked out. Jennifer Lopez really should have shown this sort of forward thinking on Gigli. This explains Kentucky's shunning of the 80s fitness craze
Rolling over in his grave Manny the Stuntman is going to hate our last story today. According to BoingBoing.com, Star Wars Episode III is already available for illegal file sharing downloads online. The security breech comes less than ten hours after the highly anticipated film’s midnight screenings ended on the east coast. While certainly not unexpected, the sheer speed with which this movie piracy occurred has to be unsettling to Lucas and co. This is the problem with creating a generation of anti-social geeks with extremely strong tech skills.
