The spirit of BOP News lives on in
This is So Last Week,
our pop culture week-in-review,
presented in a pleasing quiz form.

A kiss might be just a kiss, but for Real World veteran Jacinda Barrett, it's a lot more. The rising talent's makeout session with Renee Zellweger in Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason continues to pay career dividends. First, she leveraged the announcement of the girl/girl smooch into a prime role in Ladder 49. Now, she has replaced It Girl Rachel McAdams as Zach Braff's love interest in the appropriately titled The Last Kiss. It's official, people. Angelina Jolie no longer has the hardest working lips in show business. During working hours, anyway. She's got lips; she knows how to use them.

Resident Evil 4 is truly an immersive experience. BOP fave Edgar Wright has taken time away from his busy schedule of comedic zombie hunting to sign on for a new project. The co-creator of the subversive British slacker comedy, Spaced, will direct Scott Pilgrim's Precious Life. The story involves a slacker (natch) who falls in love. In order to win the girl of his dreams, this Tim Bisley-type must enter into mortal combat with her previous seven exes. BOP politely suggests to the creators of The Bachelor to pay particular attention to this concept. We a smell girl-fight based ratings bonanza.
Thanks to The Passion of the Christ opening the floodgates for a slew of religious themed films, a project based on biblical trollop Mary Magdalene is a go. French goddess of love Juliette Binoche will portray an actress (how bold!) who becomes fixated upon the not-so-virgin Mary. Rather than do a lot of research about the historical fallen woman, Binoche simply plans to spend a long weekend hanging out with Lindsay Lohan. Remember way back last year when I wasn't a total slut?
Quiet, or you'll give away my hiding place to Luke! Owen Wilson has taken time out from his busy schedule of denying he is anonymous celebrity blogger Rance to find a new project. He has acquired the rights to the novel of journalist John Falk titled Hello to All That: A Memoir of War, Zoloft, and Peace. The story is of Falk's experiences as a novice reporter attempting to cover the 1993 civil war in Bosnia. Rance, I mean Owen, was passionate about acquiring the rights to something which did not automatically require him to co-star with Ben Stiller, Bill Murray or brother Luke. Way to take a step away from the cliff of co-dependence, Owen!

"Don't forget to kill Philip!"
Previous edition's quote: Groundhog Day
