| Oliver Stone is apparently undeterred by the disastrous response his latest film, Alexander, has received at the box office as news comes that the controversial filmmaker and conspiracy theorist non pareil is planning a biopic on another famous political figure. This time, Stone turns his camera on the Iron Lady herself, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and has his sights set on Meryl Streep to portray the strong-willed leader who guided Britain through some very troubled times in the ‘80s and became a commanding presence on the world stage. According to friends, Stone is a great admirer of Thatcher’s, whose life has reportedly been quite the colorful one. There has been no reaction to the proposed project from Baroness Thatcher, but rumors that the film would detail a ménage a trois between Thatcher, George Bush Père and Mikhail Gorbachev could not be confirmed at press time, although that might convince us to see the film. |

It’s tough to be a so-called pop “star” when your main claim to fame is your looks and how lacking in intelligence you are. Witness poor Jessica Simpson, who is reportedly getting fed up with being the butt of all the jokes on the set of her screen debut, The Dukes of Hazzard. Simpson, who beat out several beauties, most notably the pop-tart queen whom she replaced in the public’s fickle affection, Britney Spears, for the allegedly coveted role of Daisy Duke, is apparently quite concerned about the size of her derriere, especially in the famous cut-offs that Catherine wore with such aplomb on the TV series on which the film is based. According to one course, Simpson’s co-star, Johnny Knoxville, has been teasing her incessantly, and even instigated a practical joke where he and Sean William Scott, who also plays one of the Duke brothers, jumped out from out of a car to surprise Simpson....naked from the waist down. Jessica supposedly responded by telling them to “grow up” and was “freaked out” by the prank. According to sources, Simpson was reportedly so upset because she’s never male genitalia quite like that before. |
