One day after it was announced that Catherine Zeta-Jones has sued a Reno, Nevada strip club for illegally using her image on their Web site, the club's marketing director has struck back at the Welsh beauty. Zeta-Jones sued the Spice House after discovering her picture next to some scantily-clad ladies, claiming that by displaying her picture, the Spice House was giving the impression she condoned the club and its activities. As we reported in this column yesterday, Zeta-Jones asked in the suit that her picture be removed, that its further use be barred, and has also requested unspecified damages. But according to Kent Wallace, the marketing director for the Spice House, the picture was downloaded from a German Web site that offered "royalty-free" graphics, and it never occurred to anyone at the club that Zeta-Jones' picture would appear on such a site. Wallace also went on to state that the club had no idea the picture was of Zeta-Jones, simply believing it was "an image of a beautiful woman," and that Zeta-Jones should have been "flattered" her picture was used. Wallace also stated the club took the pic off the Web site immediately after being contacted by Zeta-Jones' attorneys. Reports that, after hearing about his wife's predicament, Michael Douglas spent several hours contacting Web sites for male strip clubs and asking them to display his picture could not be confirmed at press time. Boy, Kirk Douglas is looking really good these da...wait a tick.

Lucky for me I can still *sound* like I'm smirking. Bruce Willis has been tapped to join Sharon Stone's upcoming flick Alpha Dog. This fact-based drama about a young Southern California man who wants to follow in his criminal father's footsteps but has to be rescued by Papa when things go wrong also stars Justin Timberlake and Dominique Swain. Willis will play the father attempting to rescue his son from a life behind bars. After hearing the project's title, many in Hollywood believed it to be an animated film and were disappointed to learn it wasn't, as they had been looking forward to not having to see Willis' trademark smirk for a change.
Perhaps the confusion was the result of another recent report that does have Bruce Willis starring in an animated film. Willis has taken over the role of con-artist raccoon RJ in the upcoming DreamWorks pic Over the Hedge. Willis will be replacing Jim Carrey in the film, which is based on a popular comic strip. Rumors that Carrey left the project after becoming depressed over the Oscar buzz surrounding his former In Living Color co-star Jamie Foxx's turn in Ray appear to be unfounded. I guess the Academy still hasn't forgiven me for this.

"I don't know."
"A good start. "
