Billy Bob Thornton and Greg Kinnear have signed on to a remake of the 1976 hit The Bad News Bears for Paramount Studios. The original starred Walter Matthau as a surly drunk coaching a team of outcasts in a very competitive little league. The comedy is set to begin shooting in November with an eye for release in 2005. Thornton played a coach in his most recent release, Friday Night Lights. Kinnear most recently played the gay guy from As Good As It Gets. Okay, that wasn’t technically his most recent role but seriously now, who knew it wasn’t? Hi. I'm Greg Kinnear. You might remember me from such hits as...ummm

Appearing soon at the BOP Gentlemen's lounge Catherine Zeta-Jones, star of the upcoming Ocean’s Twelve, is suing an American strip club for using her picture on its Web site. The Oscar-winning beauty, 35, has filed a lawsuit against The Spice House in Reno, Nevada, for placing a photo of her next to pictures of naked strippers. The suit alleges that her image has been used, along with the nudity, to attract patrons to a bar that Zeta-Jones alleges she's never been to. Zeta-Jones is demanding that the strip club remove her image and is demanding damages. When the news first broke, reporters originally assumed that the suit was being filed by Brigitte Nielsen but it turned out that she’s actually headlining the bar in November.
River Queen, the much-troubled production filming in New Zealand, is now without its director. Vincent Ward was fired from the production over the weekend months after the problematic production was seriously delayed due to its lead actress, Samanta Morton, developing severe complications from influenza. Based on the real-life story of an Irish immigrant in New Zealand who becomes caught in a war between European settlers and the Maori, the film stars Morton in the lead as well as Stephen Rea, Kiefer Sutherland and Temeura Morrison. Sutherland was not quoted as saying, “This production’s moving as fast as my show." Ooo, scary
