The spirit of BOP News lives on in
This is So Last Week,
our pop culture week-in-review,
presented in a pleasing quiz form.

Academy Award winner Tim Robbins and Lord of the Rings heroine Miranda Otto are in talks to join Tom Cruise in director Steven Spielberg's The War of the Worlds for Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures. If signed, Robbins would play astronomer Ogilvy, while Otto will play the wife of the main character played by Cruise. Dakota Fanning will portray their daughter. Production is being fast-tracked to start shooting in November for a June 29 release. Cruise’s streak of being out-acted in a film is set to continue. In Her next film, she’ll be playing Jodie Foster’s evil twin

I have the power! (of box office failure) John Woo has been tapped to produce and direct an updated big-screen adaptation of He-Man, the character first introduced in a children’s cartoon in 1983. The cartoon had received a big-screen adaptation in 1987 under the title Master of the Universe, which starred Dolph Lundgren. This marks the second superhero-previously-played-by-Dolph adaptation, the first being The Punisher. Sadly, the quality will likely not be increasing from project to project.
Jude Law has agreed to pay ex-wife and fashion designer Sadie Frost $18 million as a condition of the divorce after she had been threatening to attempt to secure half of his earnings. The settlement would include a huge upfront sum, continuous monthly payments and proceeds from the selling of a house. Ironic that the Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow star has to pay out his last film’s total box office. He is getting verrrry sleeeepy

"Tell me about the lowliness of good, He-Man. Is it equal to the lowliness of evil?"
Previous edition's quote: Shrek 2
