Pete Hewitt, director of this summer’s Garfield, will direct Tim Allen in Zoom's Academy, a Revolution Studios comedy, based on a graphic novel by Jason Lethcoe, about an out-of-shape former superhero called back into action to save the world. The film, written by Adam Rifkin and rewritten by Jordan Roberts, is set to start production in late spring. The film should be released around the same time as Superhero!, the parody from the team behind Scary Movie 3. Until then, moviegoers looking for a good laugh should watch Catwoman. I am an Academy Award winning actress.





Hi, I'm Robert Rodriguez. Cayden Boyd, who was last seen in the surprise hit Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, has signed on to star in Robert Rodriguez’s Shark Boy and Lava Girl. The story of the film will follow a boy whose favorite superheroes, Shark Boy and Lava Girl, come to life. The project will mark a return to the kids' action-film genre for Rodriguez, who will first make a return to the other genre that had originally made him famous with Sin City. Let’s just hope that Rodriguez doesn’t return to whatever The Faculty was.
When replacing Oscar winners Frank Darabont and Robert Towne on a project, one would naturally think of turning to…television writers? This will be the case for Mission: Impossible 3, the Tom Cruise film that is now being helmed by J.J. Abrams, the creator of the television show Alias. Abrams is going with two writers that he employs on his television show, Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci. The troubled project, which has gone from director David Fincher to Joe Carnahan before being handed to Abrams, is set to shoot next year in Europe, assuming no dramatic changes occur to the production. At this point, I’m just curious as to how Tom Cruise is going to deal with the part of the script that reads, “Break for Commercial”. Next time on Mission: Impossible...
