The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that New Line Cinema has picked up the comedy Heckled from the writing team of Jeremy Haft and Ed Gonzalez. The revenge tale centers on a heckler who causes an NBA superstar to get suspended only to find his own life in chaos when the roles are reversed and the heckler becomes the heckled. The project has been developed with an eye for Vince Vaughn to star as the heckler. New Line has not confirmed if Ben Stiller will play the NBA star but we wouldn’t put it past them. If they cast Charles Barkley, I'll be first in line at the theatre

The accompanying item is great news for wrestling fans..on so many levels Universal Pictures is in talks with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for a role in video game adaptation Doom, while Karl Urban has been cast as John Grimm, the leader of a special ops team. The futuristic action-adventure, based on id Software's and Activision's Doom video game franchise, will be directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, the man responsible for all those hip-hop kung fu films that starred Jet Li and a bunch of rappers, and was written by Dave Callaham. Doom is scheduled to start principal photography in mid-October for an August 5, 2005 release date. Read that last news bit and try to think what part of it is a good thing.
Hollywood is either stubborn or slow; these are the only two conditions which would explain why Fox has a live-action version of Alvin and the Chipmunks planned for the big screen. The studio has announced that the project is out to writers, directors, actors and key grips, even. The studio is looking to follow in the footsteps of such recent classics as Scooby Doo 2 and Garfield. Alvin and the Chipmunks was a cartoon created in 1958 that went on to become a marketing behemoth, selling records and merchandise galore. The cartoon featured three young, squeaky-voiced chipmunks who lived with their “dad” and sang their little squeaky hearts out. Fox would not confirm if in this version, the Chipmunks will have tattoos, piercings and will rap rather than sing. I wonder which one of them is Alvin

"After a long day of pillaging and looting, there's no city like Gomorrah... except maybe Sodom."
