Fox Searchlight Pictures is developing a remake of the 1984 classic Revenge of the Nerds, a comedy that starred ER’s Anthony Edwards. Nerds put a new, and all too '80s, spin on Animal House and featured copious amounts of vulgar humor and nudity. Attached to produce and possibly star are Adam Brody, star of The OC, and Grounded for Life’s Brendan Harrison. Backing the film is McG, whose work on Charlie’s Angels has been overshadowed by his mismanagement of the Superman project. The film is aiming for an R rating and is currently in early development. Some day, Hollywood will run out of movie ideas when they realize they’re trying to remake movies that came out three years prior. Worst. Remake. Ever.

I love me some buffalo Jessica Simpson has been confirmed for the role of Daisy Duke for the upcoming Jay Chandrasekhar-helmed The Dukes of Hazzard project. The good girl songstress will play the sexy, scantily-clad cousin of Bo and Luke Duke, the two righteous trouble-makers of Hazzard County. Simpson, star of the MTV reality show Newlyweds, will join another MTV star, Johnny Knoxville, and Seann William Scott in the lead roles. If there’s ever been a proper time to have dirty thoughts about your cousin, well…
If you haven’t seen The Eye yet, go rent it now before the Hollywood remake is released. The film will introduce you to Danny and Oxide Pang, the two Asian directors who have cemented their names as true horror masters of Asian cinema. The two have been signed to direct Scarecrow, their first English-language film. The film will focus on a family who takes over a sunflower farm and helps it prosper only to find that something strange is happening to the father of the family. Somebody make sure the Pangs don’t cast Eddie Murphy. Yooouuu aaarrreeeee scaaarrrrrreeeeeddddddddddd
