Hugh Jackman is in negotiations, and Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis have signed, to star in Flushed Away, an animated film from Aardman Studios. The actors will lend their voices to the feature which will use stop-motion animation, a technique that has become synonymous with the Aardman brand. Aardman Studios is responsible for Chicken Run, a big hit that helped launch the studio’s feature film division. Jackman would lend his voice to the lead character, a snooty pet rat that is flushed down the toilet and has to survive the squalor of the sewers. McKellen and Serkis will voice the main villains of the piece. Could this be the first sign that Jackman’s agent is actually trying now? What do you mean he should read the scripts first?

Fey will write the comedy about the true story of a Hasidic Jew and a grizzled rock musician who form a band. It is unknown whether Fey will write a role for herself. She will continue to serve as head writer for Saturday Night Live as well as the show's Weekend Update co-anchor when the show returns this fall. The real question is, when is Fey doing her first nude scene?

Chairman Rupert Murdoch following complaints by a local cable operator that Murdoch's Star TV had been illegally yanked from his service, even though he had made payments on time. Judicial Magistrate M.P. Tiwari issued a similar warrant against ZEE TV chief Subhash Chandra who had also been named in the complaint by Severa TV Network, the Hindustan Times reported. In other news, my lawsuit against the people behind the Powerball lottery is moving along famously. Birdie num num, indeed
