From the “Oh, Crap!” file, the Wayans brothers, namely Shawn, Marlon and Keenan, have inked a deal will Universal to write and produce a big screen adaptation of the 60s television hit The Munsters. None of the brothers are expected to star in the film but Keenan, the eldest and most to blame for their assortment of god-awful films, might direct the project. The show featured the Munster family who were a collection of horror B-movie monsters who are quite oblivious to their appearance and strange ways of life. The film reportedly be re-titled The Jacksons. L to R: Tito, Janet, Joe (back), Michael and...ummm, that's gotta be the maid or something

A big, and some say the only, fan of Les Winan's DVD column. It's true Josh Hartnett, who has a film being released on September 3rd believe it or not, has signed on to star in Lucky Number Sleven, a film to be directed by his Wicker Park director Paul McGuigan. In the film about rival Black and Jewish gangsters, Hartnett will play a gangster’s son who has to kill the son of a rival gangster. Filming is set to start in November with a yet undecided release date. Our spies tell us that the film will have a shocking ending in which Sammy Davis Jr. mediates a truce between the two factions.
Warner Home Video has announced that it will release a 10-Disc special collection of the The Matrix trilogy entitled The Ultimate Matrix Collection. The box set will include all three films in the series, the previously released accompaniment DVD The Matrix Revisited, the collection of animated films entitled The Animatrix and 5 bonus discs choc full of extra Matrixy goodness. As an alternative to this set, and for people with short term memory, WHV is releasing The Ultimate Matrix Collection Special Edition which will feature all 10 discs plus a Neo mini-bust figurine and an 80-page collector’s book. Set to be released on December 7th, the sets will cost about US$80 and US$130 respectively. Now, if the set had included 2 replacement films to the sequels, we might have had a winner.
