A Cinderella Story star and teen prima donna Hilary Duff's show in Atlanta’s Gwinnett Arena was halted for nearly an hour after an overhead speaker caught fire. Duff was six songs into her set Sunday afternoon when the speaker short-circuited, sending her band offstage and prompting some front-row audience members to take cover. While this story really needs no punch line, we will now conveniently list three: The shocking news in this story is that Duff had six songs to sing. Or: Members of the audience thought they were at a Britney Spears concert when Duff’s singing could mysteriously still be heard over the other live speakers well after she had left the arena. Or: 2000 miles away, Michael Jackson has developed a temporary nervous twitch. Are we sure she's 16? She looks like she's 27..and Chyna





The literal representation of 'Ewan McGregor in a Michael Bay film' What is the reward for traveling 15,000 miles on a motorcycle during a three-month trip? Why, starring in a Michael Bay movie, of course. Star Wars star Ewan McGregor has signed on to star in The Island, a Michael Bay sci-fi film currently at DreamWorks. The film will center around a “harvested being” who tries to escape the utopian society he currently lives in. The studio is aiming for a fall production start. We’re not sure what a harvested being is, but we’re pretty sure that shortly after his escape, he’ll end up playing for the Yankees.
The sequel to the surprise mega-hit The Ring has been pushed back from its November release to a spring 2005 release due to production delays. The Naomi Watts starrer lost its original director, Noam Murro, who was replaced by Hideo Nakata, the director of the original Japanese version of The Ring, Ringu. Nakata’s schedule reportedly conflicts with Watts' schedule and this has forced the push back of the film’s release date. Heartbreak is the only word to describe how we’re feeling right now. Well, that and indifference. Actually, we're not even sure how this made it into the Daily News. Oh, right...that's why
