Rumors surfaced over the weekend that Eric Bana has been cast as the next James Bond now that Pierce Brosnan had said that he was giving up the role of the British Secret agent. The problem is that the “report” was published by one of the British tabloids, whose reports are as reliable as reports from the White House. Bana has in fact not been confirmed for the James Bond role; furthermore, his camp has said that talks with MGM have not even happened. Additionally, speculation within Hollywood is that Brosnan’s declaration was more a contract negotiation ploy than a statement of fact. Bana isn’t exactly a draw at this stage in his career. His two major films, Hulk and Troy, have only been mildly successful. The really important question is this one: who’s going to be the next Bond girl? James Bond is the least interesting thing about the James Bond movies. Hulk get martini stirred instead of shaken! HULK SMASH!!!

Riding a bike for 3 months made me balls numb. But so did Moulin Rouge. Remember the journey ‘round the world that Ewan McGregor and pal Charly Boorman started three months ago? No? Errr…anyway, the two hopped on their motorcycles after a few months of survival training and drove until they went around the world once. Well, almost once. The two started their journey in London, traveling through Eastern Europe, Mongolia, Siberia and then Alaska and across the U.S. before finally arriving in New York last Thursday. The two filmed much of their journey themselves while a team of documentary filmmakers followed them at certain points and filmed parts of their journey for a TV series that will air on the Bravo television network in October. Their travel diaries will also be published under the title “Long Way Round”, the same title of the television series. It sure beats the title BOP had in mind: “Bikespotting”.
Nicolas Cage has tied the knot for a third time. Cage married girlfriend Alice Kim, a former sushi waitress, in a quiet, low-key ceremony. This is the actor’s third marriage and the first since his four-month marriage to ex-Mrs. Michael Jackson, Lisa Marie Presley. The newlyweds met at the sushi restaurant where Kim worked and have been dating since February. No official reports or photos of the two have been released. BOP wonders if Kim just wanted to kiss someone who kissed someone who kissed Michael Jackson. Nah, she could just go to Chuck E. Cheese if she wanted that. Dude, that punchline is like really close to lawsuit territory.
