If comic book fans never believed in karma, they should now. Hot on the heels of the devastating news about the casting of the Fantastic Four, the Hollywood Reporter has revealed that director McG, the man responsible for both Charlie’s Angels films, is officially off of the upcoming Superman film. While the news is bitter sweet for Superman fans, after all this does mean that the film is that much further away from being released, casual fans can take comfort in knowing that this will likely mean that the final product will be that much more solid. The result of McG’s departure is reportedly a rift between him and the studio on budget and location. BOP has not been able to confirm whether McG’s insistence on Supes wearing a G-String bikini instead of his traditional blue and red tights was a deal-breaker. I'm superrrrrr, thanks for askiiiing!

Definite renter Sharon Stone is set to receive the biggest salary ever given to an actor to star in a straight-to-video movie. Stone has settled her lawsuit with the producers of Basic Instinct 2 and is now set to star in the sequel, which will feature the 46-year old actress in the buff once again. The other lead from the first film, Michael Douglas, will not be returning. Okay, so the film isn’t set to be released straight-to-video, but isn’t it disturbing to know that removing Michael Douglas’ bare ass from a film is actually a bad thing?
Just a quick clarification for anyone out there who might have been confused; the film I, Robot, which is being released on Friday, is not a biography of would-be Presidential nominee John Kerry. We cannot, however, verify whether I, Puppet is in the works for the incumbent candidate. If i pretend to injest sustenance, i can continue the charade
Fact: the CGI budget for Basic Instinct was 86 million dollars Universal has announced that Inside Deep Throat, a documentary being produced by Ron Howard and long-time collaborator Brian Grazer, will be released by the studio early next year. The film, chronicling the making and behind the scenes story of the infamous adult film Deep Throat, will receive an unrated release early in 2005. Deep Throat is widely considered the most profitable movie of all-time having grossed over $200 million dollars versus a budget in the mid 5-figure range. In other news, Michael Douglas’ bare ass is not in this film either.
