Finally, Speed Racer is listening to his own theme song. The Speed Racer project is once again a go now that Vince Vaughn is attached to star and Executive Produce. The Dodgeball star is set to play the role of Racer X in this big screen adaptation of the classic Japanese cartoon. Originally released in the 60s, the cartoon was one of the groundbreaking Japanese cartoons that helped the genre become part of Japanese pop culture. Vaughn’s character is the brother of the title character, a young man named Speed Racer believe it or not, who races his high-tech car, dubbed the Mach 5, all over the world. Soooo glad Paul Walker isn’t anywhere near this project. I just farted. Can you tell?

Those fools! Can’t they see that I’ll be taking it all over soon?! Bwaaahahaaaa! The New York Times, citing an unnamed Sony executive, is reporting that Sony chairman Amy Pascal turned down Mel Gibson for the lead role in the upcoming project All the King’s Men due to his refusal to distance himself from his father’s views on the Holocaust. Pascal allegedly turned down suggestions from Gibson’s agents that he would be ideal for the lead role. The paper also cited another unnamed exec as stating that he would strenuously resist casting Gibson in a film. Gibson, who reportedly netted at least $210 million from The Passion of the Christ’s release in theatres, reportedly replied with a “Naaa naa naaa naa naaaaaa naaaa” and a raspberry.
Demi Moore was being Demi Moore at the premiere of Fahrenheit 9/11 in New York. The Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle star reportedly was being very vocal and brash by hurling insults and comments aimed at President Bush any chance she could. The actress repeatedly expressed herself to television cameras as well as television monitors that were part of the atmosphere whenever the image of Bush appeared. Accompanied by boyfriend Ashton Kutcher, Moore joined other celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Billy Crystal, Chris Rock, and Matthew Perry. While Moore was hurling insults, Kutcher was allegedly heard muttering “Huh huh..she said ‘Bush.’ There, she said it again, huh huh.” Republican or democrat, when she’s dressed like this, you gotta side with her
