MGM has announced that it will be producing a one hour television show of its feature film property Legally Blonde. The franchise, which currently sits at a grand total of 2 films, starred Reese Witherspoon as a ditzy, spoiled, blonde valley girl who goes to law school and shows professors of law what justice is really all about. The original film made Witherspoon a star and now MGM is looking to capitalize on its success by having it follow in the footsteps of Clueless, a highly successful film that generated a somewhat successful television comedy. The real question is, if no one saw the Legally Blonde sequel, why does MGM think anybody will watch a television show? Okay, so I’m sticking out my pinky like you asked, now what?

Cruise, pretending to not know what a scheize video is. In other franchise news, Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible 3 has recently received permission to film at the infamous Reichstag building in Berlin, Germany. The production has received permission to film around the perimeter of the building and on its steps but not inside the parliament building or its famous dome. This will be the first time a Hollywood film has been given permission to film at the building which played a pivotal role in German history when it was burned down in 1933. Of course, the building has played host to many, many German scheize videos.
Do not be surprised if your internet connection is twice as fast as normal on April 22nd, 2005. That is because this is the date that Fox has scheduled for the release of Serenity, the feature film spawned by its failed television show Firefly. Lasting less than a season on the airways, Firefly gained a strong cult following among geeks across the continent. Strong DVD sales and fan response, plus the very real possibility that creator Joss Whedon threatened to strap down Fox executives and to repeatedly touch their eyeballs, helped greenlight the project with its original television cast intact. Even though the geeks will be at movie theatres that day, the number of people in the world who have sex on that day will not decrease dramatically. You saw Gina Torres, back row, third in from right, in 38 television shows last year.
I’m here for an arugment.. Graham Chapman, one of the founders of Monty Python who died much too early in 1989 from throat cancer, is the subject of a new biopic entitled Gin and Tonic. To be directed by David Eric Brenner, the feature will tell the life story of Chapman, a hard-drinking, openly gay, comedic genius who helped put together some of the funniest films of all-time. Often seen as the straight/leading man of the Python troupe, Chapman is best known of his role as Brian in Life of Brian. What is unconfirmed at this time is whether instead of ending with the death of Chapman, the film will end with Aliens crash landing on Earth.
