Lindsay Lohan has reportedly signed on to play the title role in a big screen adaptation of the 60s TV show I Dream of Jeannie. Running from 65 to 70, Jeannie starred Barbra Eden as a Jeannie who is freed from her bottle prison by an American astronaut and goes on to cause him many headaches as she tries to help make his life easier while adjusting to the modern world. The film will reportedly feature a very different spin on the story by showing Jeannie as more independent and not as subservient. Translation: They’re going to ruin it. The bottle is just about all you're rubbing

Michael Moore’s documentary Fahrenheit 9/11, the winner of the Palme D’Or at Cannes this year, has finally found a distributor. The documentary, which is essentially a savage criticism of President George W. Bush’s handling of the war in Iraq, had lost it’s distributor, Disney, when Disney decided not to distribute the film. While Moore publicly scolded Disney, the film’s production company, Miramax, quietly arranged to reacquire the film from Disney and found it a new home. The film will be distributed under a joint venture by Lion’s Gate Films and IFC Films. A release date of June 25th has been set and with all the sound and fury the film has generated, it should really well at the box office. Now, if you’re Michael Moore and George Bush has more or less been your cash cow for the last 4 years, do you really want him out of the White House? How often, do you think, is he mistaken for Peter Jackson?

"...today, war is too important to be left to politicians. They have neither the time, the training, nor the inclination for strategic thought."
