presented in a pleasing quiz form.

As was speculated in some quarters at the time, looks like Michael Moore's documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 will actually see the light of day beyond its premiere at Cannes. Reports have surfaced that Miramax owners Harvey and Bob Weinstein may end up buying the film as individuals and then finding a distributor, thus circumventing the use of Miramax and incurring the wrath of its parent company, Disney. Some of you will recall the uproar recently when the Mouse House forbade Miramax from releasing the flick, reportedly because they feared angering the current governor of Florida, whose brother isn't depicted very kindly in the flick, and losing millions in tax breaks the company receives from that state. There is actually precedent for the Weinsteins making this move; they handled the release of another controversial movie, Dogma, in the same manner. Harvey Weinstein's next stop on the road to image redemption will be to release the long-delayed Hero. Right, Harve? We said right, Harve? Here's your shot at redemption, Harve.

We put the fall from grace at three days after its release. Seems like somebody's gotten a big head. Apparently, Halle Berry, who took the Academy Award for Best Actress two years ago, was ready to pull out of the upcoming X-Men 3 unless studio bosses agreed to give her a bigger part. Berry was convinced to reprise her role as Storm once the producer convinced her the role would be beefed up, saying, "We would only write a huge role for her, so she's right in that respect. We would make sure that would happen." Rumors that the title would be changed to X-Men and the Incredibly Talented, Hot and Sexy Storm could not be confirmed at press time.
Soccer star David Beckham, whose private life has been more in the news of late than his soccer, is also apparently interested in an acting career. His big-screen debut, however, has been put on hold temporarily, as negotiations for Beckham to appear in the upcoming Pink Panther remake have broken down due to the athlete's busy schedule. The film, which is intended to start a new franchise featuring the bumbling police inspector created by Peter Sellers, will star Steve Martin, who used to be a lot smarter than this. Beckham can rest easily that his acting career has not been permanently derailed, however, as the film will likely sink into deserved obscurity as quickly as most of Martin's recent efforts. Yeah, we've all heard how 'busy' you are.
Maybe if she tried playing something other than cutesy... And speaking of recent efforts fading quickly, former screen darling Meg Ryan is looking to catch lightning in a bottle again by pairing up with Tom Hanks. The two stars first hit pay dirt with the incomparable Sleepless in Seattle in 1993, and then still managed huge box office with the saccharine You've Got Mail in 1998. Ryan, whose recent movies have barely been a blip on the radar, hopes the romantic comedy she's written and reuniting with her former costar will guarantee a hit. The screenplay, called Somewhere in Time, would follow the story of two 40-somethings, married to other people, who meet by chance and ultimately fall in love. Ryan hopes the film will go before the cameras after she wraps up her current film, Papa, and Hanks finishes his current project, A Cold Case. While we understand Ryan's wish to try and recapture past glory, we'd just like to remind her of one thing: Joe vs the Volcano. 'Nuff said.
