In 1979, Ridley Scott introduced the world to Alien and proclaimed that "In space, no one can hear you scream." But in movie theaters, you could hear people scream and see them jump in their seats. With Aliens, instead of replicating Scott's horror film thrills, James Cameron successfully rebranded it as an action film, which the subsequent sequels would try to mimic.
