The Detour gives the teams the choice (except Vanck & Ashton who have to do both now) of Make a Mold or Grab a Hold. For Mold, they have to head to a supposedly haunted castle and making a life-size ghost-like statue of plaster and clothe. For Hold, they head to a cliff and climb up 90 feet to retrieve their clue, while their partner is their anchor on the ground. This one smacks of catering to one team...you know...#teamfun who has a person that is a freakin' rock climbing instructor.

Tara & Joey go with Mold and Liz & Michael opt for Hold but immediately dip their toes back into the Norway waters for getting lost walking.

Next to the Detour clue is the team with the aforementioned rock-climbing ringer of Becca. They goofily admire their cute team photo before saying they choose to U-Turn Liz & Michael, who told them to use it on them. Matt & Redmond also arrive and, just as predictably as Team Fun, they go for Hold.

Taking a page from the wandering duo of Liz & Michael, Vanck & Ashton miss the Detour clue spot, which gives Brooke & Scott and London & Logan the chance to sneak past them. They are thrilled to see their U-Turn plan worked. Team Meh/LoLo goes for the Mold and the other two head to Hold.

Vanck & Ashton finally find the Detour spot in last and we all know that the only thing that could save them is a non-elimination leg, which they wouldn't put back-to-back, right? RIGHT?!?!

As they hustle to their first task - Hold - they pass Liz & Michael and give them a not-quite sincere "Thanks!"

Tara & Joey have settled into the task with Joey manning the plaster with Tara as the mold model. This is the more time-consuming task but low-risk.

Over at the high-risk challenge, Matt (aka Spider-Man aka the guy who waltzed up 13 stories of a rickety Norwegian bonfire like it was nothing) is the climber and is blazing up the side of the cliff. And after a crash course of how to be an anchor during their ride to the task, Becca is showing that she is very good at her job. She narrows the gap between her and Matt but he finishes first.

They are both heading to the pit stop via high-end speedboat. Back at Mold, Joey is making sure the plaster is dried before removing it. Success! They're making their way to Phil too.

A neck-and-neck boat ride to the pit stop comes down to who has the better boat driver when it comes to docking. Team Fun chose the right driver and they are literally seconds in front of Matt & Redmond onto the mat. Team Fun gets their number one. That's right...Matt & Redmond were undone by the boating equivalent of parallel parking.

Tara & Joey get to Phil in third.

Over at Hold, Brooke oddly agrees to do the climbing. I guess the alternative would be for her to be the anchor and Scott would likely fall to his doom, since she can't even use a mallet and shears to make a ladle. As you could guess, she has a breakdown and demands that Scott look to where she is supposed to grab on to. Remember he's on the ground and she's 20+ feet above him. Probably not the best vantage point or visibility. This Brooke-tantrum is just the door needed by Liz to pass them up.

At Mold, London is thoroughly enjoying her artistic outlet of plastering up Logan. Both sides of this Detour are pretty straightforward and undramatic, aside from Brooke who would probably reduce to a puddle of tears if you asked her to play hop scotch.

As the other teams have left Hold, Vanck is the anchor to Ashton's climber. She proclaims that her upper body strength should make this easy. They seem resigned to being eliminated which is making her a much nicer person to her partner. For a team that is clearly going to be last and likely going home, they haven't given them much in the way of screen time.

Hold is done and they head to Mold. Officially Liz & Michael are number four with Brooke & Scott as five and London & Logan as six. Phil asks why did they target Vanck & Ashton and Brooke happily embraces her not-so-secret mean girl. Channeling Regina George, she explains that there are people you want to invite to a dinner party and then there are those that are second tier. Man, this girl is unlikeable.

At Mold, there is actually a sweet moment where Ashton tells mold model Vanck that he's going to make a very pretty ghost. That sweetness then meets sadness when he replies, "I never thought I be pretty anything."

The conclusion of this leg wasn't just telegraphed but put on the Jumbotron for all to see within the first 10 minutes and Phil follows through as Vanck & Ashton are sent home. But she praises her partner for how far they made it as the most opposite of all the teams.

Cross those fingers that the next leg sees the dismissal of the other most unlikeable racer Brooke. A boy can dream.
