They talked a good game. They did not play a good game.

Clearly, this task will be 100 percent luck and zero percent skill once they run to the balloons. Sadly, for our clowns, they are the slowest to get to the field and three teams already are "with clue" and heading to their cars.

The teams are prompted to fly to Santa Barbara…wait for it…Argentina. Those sneaky producers just wanted footage of the teams confused and asking “Where is Santa Barbara?” or “But we’re already in Santa Barbara.” The Phil Navigation System in their Ford Taurus directs them to the American Airlines counter at LAX. Wow two product placement name drops even before the opening credits might be a record for this show. The first six teams will get the more desirable flight that arrives first in Argentina.

By the time the credits roll all the teams but Bopper & Mark and sisters Misa & Maiya have gotten their clue. I felt that I would like Rachel & Dave (Army of Two) and it was solidified by Blond Rachel (as she will be called) describing Big Brother’s Rachel’s (or Bad Rachel…I just can’t pass a chance to make a negative comment about her) choice of a green, sequined tank top as looking like “Shamrock” from Rainbow Brite. I assume that Good Rachel is referring to "Patty O’Green" and I suspect that the reference was lost on hubby Dave but it still made me laugh.

Well, Bopper & Mark get their clue, effectively leaving Misa & Maiya in their wake of loud, heavily southern-accented encouragement from Bopper. This could/will get old quick. Even his best friend Mark is telling him to tone it down. Too bad Mark isn’t able to keep down his lunch thanks to motion sickness from riding in the back seat. That could definitely be a detriment on this race. It’s humorous that Bopper knows that Mark will get sick in the back seat but still insists on driving. That’s what friends are for.

The sisters have apparently lost track of what balloons they have searched and the onscreen prompt updates us on the fact that they are been searching almost an hour and 45 minutes.

On the first flight that will land two and half hours before the other one are twins Elliot & Andrew, Team Border Patrol Art & JJ, Army of Two Blond Rachel & Dave, Big Brother Brendon & Bad Rachel, Feds Nary & Jamie and dating divorcees Vanessa & Ralph. Once in Buenos Aires, they will connect on a flight to Salta and then drive to the town of Santa Barbara.

The first batch of teams gets their clue and is heading to another airport but this time for a challenge and not travel.

As the second flight lands, clowns Dave & Cherie are differentiating themselves from their competition by falling way behind early in the race and Cherie quickly breaks down. The name of this episode is “Tears of a Clown” and I suspect there will be even more such tears shed before the hour is up.

At the first Roadblock, the producers throw the teams a curve. They see that it is a hangar and it’s easy to assume that the person doing the Roadblock will be jumping from a plane. So, they pick the person but then the clue turns the tables on them. The person doing the Roadblock will actually have to navigate to the “X” that their skydiving teammate will be waiting at following a 10,000-foot jump.
