Welcome to Trailer Hitch, BOP's look at the latest movie trailers to hit the Internet. This week: A scary movie is unintentionally laughable, Martin Scorsese and Leo DiCaprio reunite and Robin Williams is funny again.

The Crypt – Opens June 25th

I liked The Crypt a whole lot better when we were calling it The Descent way back in 2005. Seriously, audiences do have a memory and will pick up on these kinds of things.

Even worse, The Crypt is not only a poor man's knock off of The Descent, but also appears to be a truly awful film. It's the quality. It's the acting. It's the cheesy cave baddies. I'd put a ton of money on the fact that this guy won't be pulling in a lot of dough.

Grade: F

The Answer Man – Opens July 24th

There's quite possibly nothing new about the dangerously formulaic The Answer Man. Starring Jeff Daniels and Lauren Graham, the movie is that typical story of a guy who can pass out advice, but has no idea how to take any for himself. We've certainly seen this before. In this case, Daniels' character wrote a bestselling book two decades ago called Me and God – a book that has changed many a life for the better – yet he's completely clueless when dealing with anything concerning his person.

The comedy is sub par – strange, considering the movie's two stars are funny people – and I'm undecided about the chemistry between Daniels and his co-star, Graham.

The Cove – Opens July 31st

Here's something you don't see advertised everyday: The Cove pegs itself as a cross between The Bourne Identity and Flipper. And you know what? They have it just about right. The documentary, due in theaters at the end of July, shines a light on the mysterious secrets behind a hidden cove in Japan when a team of activists and filmmakers embark on a heroic journey to uncover the deadly truths.

And I don't use the term loosely. The Cove's trailer doesn't expose much about the secret, though it does make clear that if caught in the act, the filmmakers' project will be shut down.

Because the trailer doesn't give a clear idea of what this thing really is, I can't say I'm any more than slightly curious about the docu. Maybe as some reviews come in my opinion can be swayed. But let me note that you can never go wrong in watching dolphins on the big screen.

Shutter Island – Opens October 2nd

Martin Scorsese directing a horror-thriller? I like it. And he's got company, too, in Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Emily Mortimer, Michelle Williams and his personal man crush, Leonardo DiCaprio. Shutter Island, slated for release in early October, is based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Dennis Lehane.

For the record, this project looks like it – for lack of a better term – rocks. In it, DiCaprio and Ruffalo star as two U.S. Marshals called in to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from a hospital for the criminally insane. The catch? It's all on an island – hence the title.

Shutter Island is eerie, chilling and looks to blend a good amount of thrills with entertainment for the pre-Halloween crowd.

Old Dogs – Opens November 25th

A strange thing happened while I was watching the trailer to Robin Williams' new family comedy, Old Dogs. I was laughing. A lot. When does this ever happen?

The man has made some poor comedy choices as of late – License to Wed, Man of the Year and RV, just to name a few. Not to mention that the comedy in Old Dogs is pretty low brow. But honestly, it's good material. Robin Williams on drugs that mess with depth perception? This will always be funny.

In the movie, which co-stars John Travolta, Dan (Williams) learns he's in for the surprise of his life when a former lover of his, Vicky (Kelly Preston), drops the bombshell that he's actually the father of her seven-year-old twins. So, Dan recruits his best friend (Travolta) to help raise his children and learn the true meaning of family. The supporting cast includes Seth Green, Matt Dillon and the late Bernie Mac (in his first and final movie for Disney).
