Clearly, practicing for the Race ahead of time has given them an advantage. Justin & Diana don’t make mistakes, and would have won the last leg if not for a silly balancing challenge leading up to the Pit Stop. They also have the added advantage of not obsessing over other teams needlessly. With Justin’s extreme enthusiasm and Diana’s level-headedness, they suit each other as partners. Other teams are pretty much going to have to hope Justin & Diana fall upon an epic streak of bad luck.
2. Tanner & Josh (#TeamTexas)
Imagine the climactic moments of the movie when good and evil square off. Now imagine if one of the people had legitimately no idea the other one hates them. That’s precisely what has happened these last few episodes. It must be very confusing for Justin & Diana to watch these past few episodes. Anyway, Josh seems to have gotten past the obsession with #TheGreenTeam, but Tanner still holds a weird grudge for some reason. #TeamTexas is pretty clearly 1A to #TheGreenTeam’s #1, but now that they’ve squandered their Express Pass in the worst way possible, things could change for them. Instead of worrying about Justin, they need to just focus on playing their best game possible. We doubt that happens, though.
3. Kelsey & Joey (#TheReporters)
#TheReporters are probably a notch below the top two teams, but they nonetheless have been remarkably consistent throughout the Race so far. They have great communication, not to mention the fact that they’re flying well below radar so far, unlike #TheGreenTeam and #TeamTexas. Kelsey & Joey are well positioned to make the final three, especially if she doesn’t have to deal with any more animals in challenges.
4. Denise & James Earl (#TeamAlabama)
Every team from this point on is pretty terrible. Yes, Denise & James Earl won the last leg, but just barely and that was with the advantage of the Express Pass. They didn’t have the same chances to fail brutally that the other subpar teams did, but that doesn’t mean #TeamAlabama doesn’t have it in them to do so.
5. Cindy & Rick (#ChacAttack)
Cindy & Rick are mistake-prone and completely lack any attention to detail, but at least they’re having a lot of fun being terrible. This season, that’s almost enough to make them winners.
6. Logan & Chris (#ThePaparazzi)
Communication is the key to victory on The Amazing Race. All the great teams say so. Logan & Chris… go a different way. They tell each other to shut up. Repeatedly. We stopped counting at 10 during the last leg, but it was a lot more than that. It’s hard to get in the bottom five of the most dysfunctional teams of The Amazing Race, but we’re giving Logan & Chris a chance to get there. Don’t be surprised if they’re the eliminated team while the cheerleaders laugh at them from second-to-last.
7. Tiffany & Krista (#TheCheerleaders)
If you’re playing during this season and you’re the worst team, you’re historically bad. In fact, if you’re one of the teams that have already been eliminated, you should retroactively ask not to participate. The cheerleaders have demonstrated only one skill so far – not finishing last. They might have managed to finish two ahead of last place in the most recent leg, but we’re not counting on seeing that sort of trend continuing. But here’s the thing – finishing in second-to-last place is a viable strategy on The Amazing Race until the final leg.
