Friday Box Office Analysis

The top film on Friday is still Ride Along, with $6.3 million on Friday, down 56% from last Friday. That decline certainly could’ve been considerably worse but at this point anything it earns is gravy over the reported $25 million budget and good news for the sequel greenlighted months ahead of the release. Ride Along wins another box office weekend with ease, with $20.1 million.
I, Frankenstein
After two straight weekends of breakout releases, I, Frankenstein brings things to a screeching halt, with just $2.8 million on Friday. The critically annihilated monster movie is more a source of unintentional comedy than any sort of thrills or scares. A weekend of $7.8 million is probably its best case scenario.
Notable Holdovers
The Nut Job falls 48% from last Friday to $2.5 million but will do a lot more work over the rest of the weekend. Look for a second weekend of $10 million.
The only other notable thing worth mentioning is Lone Survivor chugging towards $100 million with another $3.6 million on Friday. It will likely hit that figure by next weekend after it finishes this weekend with around $12 million.
