It's nice to see that the dude from Live and Let Die lived to terrorize another day.

[tm:4512_]The Princess and the Frog[/tm]

The Princess and the Frog, the non-computer animated film from Disney earned $7.2 million on Friday. This is a solid figure and sets it up nicely to be a big earner over the Christmas to New Year's money train. It should also have a pretty solid weekend here as well. $24.4 million is a very decent start.

[tm:4989_]Invictus[/tm]

The [bp:269_]Clint Eastwood[/bp] film starring [bp:1017_]Morgan Freeman[/bp] (in the role he still seems like he was born to play) and [bp:151_]Matt Damon[/bp] earned $2.9 million Friday. This is still pretty disappointing even considering it's probably set up to be a long term release, especially if it comes up big in the awards department. I expect an above average weekend multiplier given that it's targeted squarely at adults. A weekend of $9.2 million

Notable Holdovers

After a weekend on top, [tm:3704_]The Blind Side[/tm] still holds well off 30% from last weekend and it could very likely pass the $150 million mark by the end of the weekend. Give it $13.9 million this weekend.

Still hanging on as we get closer and closer to Christmas, A Christmas Carol falls a mere 12% from last Friday in its sixth weekend. A weekend of $6.8 million might be its last hurrah before [tm:4510_]Avatar[/tm] takes all its 3D screens.
