Power Rankings for 12/27/16
Best Actress
P/R Last C/R Person/Film
1 6 85 Natalie Portman - Jackie
It is hard to say anyone is locked--with so many options here. But you can't ignore a SAG and Globe nod and the powerful critical acclaim of it. I think she's ahead.
2 1 80 Emma Stone - La La Land
Emma is still very much in it and since she will likely split the Globe with Natalie we won't know much until SAG and BAFTA. The movie continues to wow audiences, so do not ever discount her.
3 3 75 Amy Adams - Arrival
Tragically, Amy is likely to be a bridesmaid yet again.
4 -- 60 Meryl Streep - Florence Foster Jenkins
It is hard to believe that she will get ahead of stronger performances but with the Globe and SAG it is foolish to bet against her.
5 4 65 Ruth Negga - Loving
Having missed at SAG, she's in big trouble. But Chastain hasn't found any traction and Huppert also missed at SAG, so she's probably teetering for that last spot.
