Power Rankings for 12/4/08
Best Animated Feature
P/R Last C/R Person/Film
1 -- 99 WALL-E
We hate to use the words 'Mortal Lock' in the beginning of December, but WALL-E is a mortal lock for a nomination.
2 -- 89 Kung Fu Panda
DreamWorks Animation had a great year and it will be up to them to determine which of their two titles they think has a better chance against WALL-E. Kung Fu Panda is our personal choice.
3 -- 70 Waltz With Bashir
  It's this year's Persepolis.
4 -- 50 Horton Hears a Who
We're not inclined to dismiss this one because the Academy probably does owe Fox a solid for skipping Ice Age: The Meltdown.
5 -- 48 Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa
$160 million in current box office sounds great until you consider that it's $55 million behind Kung Fu Panda and less critically praised to boot.
6 -- 45 Bolt
Disney is not going to compete against themselves by pushing Bolt's candidacy, which is tragic since it's such a wonderful film.
7 -- 35 The Tale of Despereaux
Vermin did pretty well last year.
8 -- 20 Space Chimps
Deserves a mention for the Robert Palmer gag alone. This is a disarmingly charming movie that was unfortunately dismissed by critics.
