Well, this will be a short article.

There's not much to say about Friday box office. It's effectively non-existent, which I suppose goes to figure since the only new significant release of note in recent weeks has been Tenet. Every other studio has run away from theatrical exhibition, which seems the correct decision given what we've seen.

Supposedly, Tenet earned $1.5 million on Friday, though you might be hard-pressed to find that data registered anywhere. With that info, the expected total would be about $4.5 million for the weekend, and if the WB and Chris Nolan were hoping to carry the film out over several months, it's not going to happen for them (except for the fact that no other films may be available to watch).

The Dinish D'Souza-produced Infidel theoretically could claim a good Friday, if you want to say that $530,000 is good. I'm a little bummed to see James Caviezel in this one (he's quite a favorite from his days in Person of Interest). A few people thought it was worth seeing, but considering that many of the people most interested in seeing things reopen fall into this potential audience, they're still not seeing this movie as worthy of their money/their health risk.

The only other movie in six figures was Disney's The New Mutants, which garnered another $470,000. It's still hanging in there, but probably lends credence to Disney's decisions around future release - or decisions still hanging in the balance.
